Asher Thomas

Asher Abel Thomas was born in Roseau Dominica June 4 th, 1989 to proud parents Mona and Cyril Thomas; Asher Abel Thomas was destined to be a star. At the age of five (5) Asher discovered his amazing singing ability and became a member of The Paix Bouche Primary School Junior choir. The choir participated and won many local competitions. Asher’s passion and love for music peak his interest in learning to play the acoustic guitar; he completed “an introduction to guitar” course with The Adult Education, and later joined the four member group “Simplz” in 2007, the group produced hit tracks such as now or never, like we lovers, with Asher singing the hook on these tracks. In 2010 Asher launched his solo career and entered, his first local competition Q95 Talent Search, and emerged the winner of this competition amongst twelve (12) finalists. He then went on to perform live at “Creole in the Park” in 2010, 2012, and 2013. Creole in the Park is one of Dominica’s biggest events during the Independence season in October; the event showcases regional and international artists. Asher captivated the crowd as a guest artist at the Kings of Kings show in New York in 2010. His first album “Love and Pain” produced ten (10) tracks, with hit tracks such as Come on over and Closest Friend all the songs on this album was written by Asher. He has also written songs for local artists like Marsha who is one of Dominica’s top female artist. He composes and plays the guitar, and hopes to become one of the Region’s top artists/songwriter and is well on his way in realizing his dream. Asher is a versatile singer who delivers Reggae, R&B, Creole and Soca music in an extraordinary display of talent, his desire to be at the top of his game motivates him to develop his talent every day to become a better artist , songwriter and musician
